Furbies are back and they are selling like hotcakes, maybe they will become a hotter commodity than Twinkies as we get closer to Christmas!
The first Furby was released for the holiday season of 1998 and during one, 12- month period, a total of 27 million Furby toys were sold! And now for the 2012 holiday season they are as hot as ever. For 2012 the Furby has more expressive LCD eyes, a wider range of motions, its own iPhone app, and even the ability to adapt its personality in reaction to user behavior.
Of course since there are less than 25 days until Christmas, Furbies are sold out at all the stores. Your best bet of finding one is on eBay. MSRP for your average Furby was $59.99, but you could buy one at Wal-Mart for $54.00 before they sold out.
Currently they are selling for a fairly large premium on eBay, and the price will most likely keep rising.
We did some research using Terapeak and found out that you can buy a Plum color Furby on eBay for $92.50 and a Navy Blue one for $84.99.
